Forest Lake has all the Fall feels

As the seasons begin to change we are greeted with cool crisp evenings and warm sun filled days. To help ourselves ease into this transition we fill our time with pumpkin patches, hay rides and sweet apple orchards adorned in our flannel shirts and cozy sweaters. Here in Forest Lake we don’t fall short (no pun intended) of autumn festivities to keep the whole family busy all the while enjoying the changes around us.

This week our home town celebrates it’s Homecoming at Forest Lake Area High School – we battle Mahtomedi vying for that big win! Our schools do a great job rallying all of our kids from Kindergarten through the senior high throughout the week prepping them for the big game on Friday night. We have everything from our annual girls Powder Puff games, a “spirit bus” filled with high school students traveling to each elementary school to rally and dress up days throughout the week to show our pride for our schools! The week ends with the traditional Homecoming dance on Saturday night – GO RANGERS!

For those of us not in school – we celebrate our Forest Lake community this weekend October 5th and 6th at our annual Lake Fest. There is food, fun and games, we even have a tailgate party before the big game Friday night! This festival is for everyone to enjoy. Click the link to find out more information.

Our neighboring towns have some great events going on as well. On Saturday, October 6th from 6pm to Midnight – The Stacy-Lendt Fire Department has there annual “Firehouse Bash” filled with food, beverages, bonfire, live entertainment, raffles and silent auctions. be sure to check it out!

If you need help getting into the fall mood and need some of the feels right at your own home – we here at Forest Lake Floral can help you with that! Our greenhouse is filled with beautiful mums and bushel baskets to adorn your front door step. We have locally grown corn stalks and straw bales to outfit your fall decor as well. PUMPKINS – PUMPKINS – PUMPKINS we have ’em in every shape and size you could imagine.  From carving, pie to decorative – we have them all!

Well, if this doesn’t get you into the spirit of the Autumn season – I’m not sure what will. Head outside, breathe in that fresh cool air, grab a pumpkin spice latte and enjoy the scenery around you. Fall teaches us a good lesson – the falling leaves of a tree remind us of how easy it can be to let go and enjoy the present moment.
